Micro Session: Board Meeting Best Practices / Yearly Chair Calendar, Expectations and Managing Your Time

During these two 30-minute learning opportunities, learn best practices for leading a board meeting and better understand your role in ensuring that members stay on task while making deliberative, strategic decisions. Next, discuss with a panel of chapter presidents what the normal expectations are for board chairs during their terms and tips on how to balance your responsibilities as chair with your business commitments.

Micro Session: Best Practices for Reviewing a Nonprofit Professional / The Role of the Executive Committee in Helping the Board Fulfill its Fiduciary Duties.

Giving effective feedback to a nonprofit president and CEO who works for a board of directors is different from what you have done in your construction career. The first micro session will help equip you to lead the review of your chapter president. In the next 30 minutes, the focus shifts to how each member of the executive committee fulfills a specific role to ensure the board is fulfilling its fiduciary duties to the ABC membership.
